teacher grants / special grants

In response to a major donor’s wish to make an impact on more than a single classroom of students, EPAK began to solicit and explore additional needs within Ravenswood District schools. This exploration led EPAK to launch a Special Projects Grant Program. EPAK successfully completed its first “pilot” project and celebrated, with much fanfare, the opening of a newly restored middle school library for Edison McNair Academy on March 7th, 2007.

Accomplished

  • new library at Edison McNair Academy
  • leveled book room at Brentwood Academy. Enables
teachers to match a child’s current reading level and build
their skills to bring them up to grade level.

To do

  • parent participation program at the Ravenswood Child Development Center. Provides parenting tips, family math nights, and pre-reading activities that get parents involved with their children’s preschool.
  • leveled book room at East Palo Alto Academy
